To provide the highest quality care to our patients, Dr. Van Wicklen has employs state-of-the-art equipment, techniques, and procedures. Advanced tools like laser cavity detection and digital X-rays help us diagnose potential problems, explain treatment recommendations, and plan effective therapy. Dental X-rays are an important component in safeguarding your oral health.
A Closer View
Although we perform a complete checkup every six months, dental X-rays allow Dr. Van Wicklen to inspect tissue and structures he cannot visualize during your exam. These images can identify cysts or abnormal growths, decay between teeth, infection in the bone, gum disease, and other issues. How often Dr. Van Wicklen orders X-rays of your mouth depends on present oral health, age, risk for disease, and any current signs or symptoms.
Safety First
When we take X-rays, we utilize Cone Beam 3-D radiography, which generates high-resolution, three-dimensional X-rays. Digital X-rays emit up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional radiography. Because the images are immediately available for viewing, Dr. Van Wicklen can show them to patients and review his findings chairside. As well, digital X-rays can be enhanced, stored electronically, printed, and transmitted to specialists or insurance companies.
